Microscope Dentistry

If you lack the confidence to smile owing to your yellow or discoloured teeth, bleaching might just be the answer to your problem.

Dental bleaching is a simple and very regular cosmetic procedure carried out at Om Dento Care. This procedure helps get rid of the stains and the yellow texture of teeth. The result is lightening and brightening of the teeth, giving you a younger, more aesthetic and appealing smile.

1. How is the bleaching procedure carried out?

Bleaching is carried out using toothpaste like paste which is applied over your teeth for a period of 30 minutes. The paste may be used independently or in conjunction with a light source to activate the agents. The procedure ends with the paste being washed off with water. This procedure is extremely safe and care is taken to make you feel comfortable at the clinic during the procedure.

2. What are the benefits of Dental Bleaching?

Bleaching being a cosmetic procedure adds substantial value to your dental aesthetics. The advantage of the bleaching procedure is you having a lighter and younger shade of teeth, that provides you with the confidence to interact with people with a million dollar smile. It may also reveal any problem brewing beneath the stains.

3. Are there any side effects of bleaching?

The most common side effect is the sensitivity of teeth for a day after the procedure. This sensitivity only occurs in a few patients. This sensitivity can be warded off using commonly available anti-sensitivity toothpaste.

4. What is the care to be taken after the bleaching procedure?

The following are the instructions that will be given to you after the bleaching procedure:

  • a. Not to have any coloured food items like wine, tea, turmeric and coloured curry/gravy for 3 to 4 days. This is because the teeth tend to absorb excessive colouring agents for a few hours after the procedure.
  • b. Use an anti sensitivity toothpaste for 2 weeks.
  • c. Avoid anything excessively hot or cold for 2 days. This is again related to the side effect of sensitive teeth after the procedure.

5. Can Bleaching of teeth be done at home?

Yes, Bleaching of teeth can be done at home. Home bleaching kits are available at the clinic. The doctors will personally train the patients to use this kit.

The drawback of home bleaching kits is that they are not as effective in brightening / lightening the shade of teeth as professional bleaching done at the clinic.

Benefits Of Microscope Dentistry

The value of high magnification in clinical medicine (via a surgical microscope) has been well known for more than 50 years. The value of high magnification in dentistry (via a dental operating microscope) has been well known for 20 years in endodontics, for 14 years in periodontics3 and for over 10 years in restorative dentistry.

Why work with a microscope?

The operating microscope (OM) is not restricted to endodontics, nor is it an instrument only designed to search for the entrance of the canals or to check the quality of a preparation. It can be used permanently in omnipractice and replaces the use of magnifying glasses in a very favorable way. The fatigue of your eyes when focalizing (with or without magnifying glasses) disappears with the microscope because the eyes look at infinite and can rest in an operation field, which is always perfectly lit without any shade.
The magnification trough the eyepiece gives you an extraordinary vision in 3D, which allows you to improve the precision and the quality of your work, and therefore to increase your satisfaction. The more, you eliminate the toxic positions of your spine; the microscope imposes a physiological position, which often relieves from spine problems of which many dentists suffer.
Adding a camera to the OM with a screen for the patients allows an unequaled communication with them and their accompanying persons. All the explanations become clearer.

The benefits of the dental operating microscope are stated below

Magnified Image

Microscopic provide 3X to 30X magnification with the ability to change views with a simple turn. Microscope offers a deeper depth of field view and wider field of view than traditional dental equipment. The main advantage of dental microscope is that enable dentists to see things that they would not be able to distinguish with the naked eye and also using dental microscopes can increases accuracy and optimises performances.

Increased Precision and Accuracy

The increased magnification allows the dentist to access small, narrow canal opening without removing the tooth structure. Debris that must be removed from the root canal before filling the root canal space is also more easily identified.

Improved Ergonomics

Recent statistical data revealed that, “Utilizing a dental surgical microscope is associated with advanced ergonomics as confirmed by over 75% of dentists.” Using dental microscopes really deliver on the promise of comfortable sit-down dentistry, i.e. with the use of this microscope it’s no longer necessary to bend your body to obtain the correct view. Dental operating microscopes that come with advanced lighting and angled optical systems are also well-designed to be mounted on walls, ceilings or tables.

Outstanding LED Lightings

Lighting is the important thing to look for while choosing medical equipment. Dental microscopes are equipped with advanced lightings made of LED that cast a shadow less illumination and also comes with a cooler temperature.

Advanced Optical Systems

Dental operating microscopes now stand out from other dental operating equipment mainly due to their optical efficiency and high quality visualisation.
